Creating a Customer Avatar

Create a Customer Avatar

Image result for nerd at comic con

The person displayed above is the perfect customer avatar for my product of custom toilet seats. This person is not only passionate about star trek but has extra money to spend on going to events like Comic Con and buying a custom for the event. This is the perfect customer for my product because a custom toilet seat is not an essential to life so it would require someone to have extra money after necessities to spend on it and his passion for star trek could be easily exploited by putting a custom start trek image on the toilet lid that would draw his attention. This person has a hobby of binge watching his favorite TV series and buying as much material from the shows as possible to decorate his home including a custom toilet seat. The kind of car that this person tends to drive is a 2005 Toyota Corolla or Camry that needs to be washed but never will be. The shows they watch are the stereotypical shows that everyone gets addicted to such as star trek, star wars, and harry potter because they believe they are the best of all time. They probably don't have any children, but if they do their children will probably grow up hating the shows they loved and rebelling against their parents. The politicians they most admire are not in office but the ones that came from the shows they watched, and these people will constantly complain about how the leaders in the shows are better then the ones in real life. The range of the customer avatar can range from 14-55 but they all feel young at heart. This information doesn't describe everyone in our target market but very closely resembles out Customer Avatar.

What do you have in common with your customer avatar?

What I have most in common with my customer avatar is I have money to spend on the non-essentials. I usually use this money for video games or going to midtown on the weekends but if I saw a dope custom toilet seat I would totally buy it! Also I do binge watch TV shows sometimes but not as commonly as the avatar. I also fall in the age range of the avatar because I am 21.

  1. Hey Josh,
This post helps me to envision the kind of person that would spend money on this type of discretionary spending. It is definitely the kind of person who is not afraid or unwilling to spend mony for comfort items, no matter the cost. The detail in this post was great, and shows that you thought this through all the way. Also, the post had some good humor and was a pleasure to read.

  2. Hi Josh,
To be honest this isn't an avatar I expected for your product, but this person is the perfect customer. This person seems like the kind to not have an issue spending money on this kind of product. You did a great job explaining, in detail, what this customer would be like. You even did this with astounding accuracy for this type of individual.

  3. Hi Josh,

Your customer avatar was very interesting and unique. Definitely not something that I would have thought of for your market or avatar at all. You go into great detail about your avatar and I think that will aid you in the future. Being able to identify your avatar so easily means, in my mind, that you have a very clear vision for the future of your product and company as a whole. Great job.
