1) Tenaciousness is a competency. What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?
Time management is the most important behavior when completing courses in college. It's best to plan time to do all your work along with your play and prioritize what is important now and what can wait for later. In this course you must always complete your work on time and even ahead of time since their are no extensions on assignments for any reasons.
2) Tenaciousness is also about attitude. Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this?
During my 3rd week at UF after transferring we had career showcase plus Heavener career week which was very overwhelming to complete while also having the same amount of school work. I honestly felt like no doing some of my work to focus on finding an internship but in the end I was able to manage my time to balance these factors. I feel as if I have changed my attitude since being here because it is hard now for feel overwhelmed and I always am able to finish my work before deadlines without stress.
3) Three tips. What are three tips you would offer next semester's student about (1) fostering the skills that support tenacity and (2) developing the 'tenacious mindset' ?
Some tips I would offer upcoming students would be too set aside times for work and also for relaxation so they don't get too stressed out. I would also say too use any tutoring services they can find for classes they are struggling in because they make life a lot easier and its helps you understand concepts better. For developing a tenacious mindset I would say to try and challenge yourself with something new everyday and get used to failure so that it is easier to deal with in the future and you can bounce back and try again to find success eventually.
Hi Josh,
ReplyDeleteI agree with many things in your post. UF has really taught me how to take the things I have to do and plan a head. Each week I have everything I need to do planned out and make sure I don’t do anything dumb at mid before I do my work. This class specifically has also taught me how to take my thoughts and write them down. We all have ideas and crazy thoughts, but how often do we really write them down? By taking my thoughts and putting them into a blog, I can now take thoughts in my everyday life and put them on paper to expand on. This will definitely be a great trait to have as I come closer and closer to graduation.
Hey there Josh,
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with you on most of the points that you made. To me, time management is probably one of the most important skills in life, but especially in college. Without time management, it can become super difficult to make sure that all tasks ands assingments get done on time. I like the point that you made at the end about setting out time to relax, this is key to keeping a clear head and to not get too stressed out.
